Lancashire take 2007/2008 title at DV |
The Northern Counties Ladies RU Competition culminated at Douglas Valley on Sunday November 18th with the Lancashire Senior side retaining the Trophy after a strong performance against Yorkshire, winning 25-0 with five excellent and unanswered tries. The winning margin proved to be just enough to beat Cheshire on points difference by a mere 3 points.
In the other two county matches played on the day at DV, the Lancashire U15's were narrowly beaten 10 - 12 by Yorkshire in an excellent game that rested on the last kick of the match, and also in the competition where they finished in 2nd position overall after strong performances in all 3 games. If they had drawn the game they would have won overall.
The U18's finished 3rd with a win over Northumberland and a narrow defeat by Cheshire, unfortunately Yorkshire proved too strong in an injury littered game at DV. but the entire squad showed true guts and determination throughout.
CONGRATULATIONS: To Grace Ratcliffe, capped by Lancashire Ladies Senior side, and Natasha Hitchin, capped by Lancashire Ladies U18 side. |
