Welcome to the Junior Section.

We hope you find this section helpful and informative. Parents and Guardians might want to look at the club's Child Protection Policy - click here to download. Click on the links left for more information.
Wigan RUFC has a policy of CRB checking all adults who have contact with young people Under 18 at the club, and copies of individual CRB certificates are available for inspection by request. We also take our responsibility for providing first aid facilities very seriously, with First Aid training offered at the Club's expense to all adults who work alongside our young players.
We welcome new young players, boys and girls, to come down to Wigan and enjoy playing rugby union in a safe and controlled environment. If you would like to check us out, just come down on Wednesday evenings when we train from 6-30pm to 7-30 under floodlights, or on Sunday matchdays from 10am onwards when the tea and coffee are being served! - we look forward to seeing you.

New Junior Coaches needed

ARE YOU interested in coaching our young players of the future?
Wigan needs more junior coaches with an enthusiasm for the game, patience and a willingness to be subject to CRB clearence checks.
There is great satisfaction to be had from seeing youngsters develop their skills. Wigan provides coaching training and lots of moral and social support!.
If you want to get involved, contact Junior Chairperson
Diane Wilkinson tel -07506178702

Child Protection Officers

Senior Child Protection Officer is the Junior Section's Julie Makinson,(pictured left)
Julie is responsible for the welfare of everyone under 18 years of age at Wigan, and we refer all interested parties to our Child Welfare policy that can be found by clicking here.
The CPO 's first priority is the proper checks on all adults who have any contact with club members under the age of 18, and with that in mind is asking all those who come into contact with the club's young people, especially parents at Wednesday night sessions,to complete a CRB check form which results in the individual receiving a CRB Certificate.
Please contact Julie for a form, which needs to be returned to Club Secretary Dave Wilkinson. Anyone needing photographs should contact Mark and make arrangements to have their pictures taken.
